Shattered objects.

Ten years i undertook to learn to paint
in this closed town of concrete & of tires--
gilt carriage that turned back into a turnip
despite all theory's frames i could assert

as bootless were my further powers to sway
of longer, taller gantries--still, the moon
with regolith untrod--i find what use

only in scratching out this artist's name:
the greenhorn molded into something more,
whatever may be pent in that dark room
