you are the news now (day 126)

(father nathan monk on fb)

"But words have their origin in our breathing body.."

"Where blackness bides unbroke, must devils brood?" --The Ring and the Book

Restricted topic.

The dove that pervades this antelucan hour
knows neither plague nor fear of plague's designs.
We who must needs endure them, we spent clowns
live hostage to the inflammable as the fire.
We've carried on, pretending all was well;
we've done what little we could, & buried grief
with too much else exorbitant: song for the deaf
dove-made answer & unforeseen reveal.

"Maybe we should listen again."

"My hands are empty and my satchel lank" --ibid
